It can be a bit tricky to learn which key is which, so I recommend looking at a chart called the Circle of Fifths, which shows the different keys and how to read them. If there are no sharps or flats, the key is called C major, or A minor. If you read sheet music, you can see what the key is by counting the sharps or flats in the key signature, which is the sharps and flats right next to the clef. There's a lot of theory behind this sort of thing, but this is just a basic explanation. Different keys have different numbers of sharps or flats, which determine how the piece sounds. Sharps are what it's called when you play a semitone up from a note (in other words, half a pitch higher than the note), and flats are when you play a semitone down from the note, or half a pitch lower. So, a quick tip- key is determined by how many sharps or flats a piece has.
